Jacob Hofheins Birth Correction...

My mom is a genealogist and she sent me an email today with this info. in case any of you wanted to know. And if you haven't been out to see Jacob Hofheins' statue in Parowan, you should go! It's pretty cool...Jake (my husband) has a pretty cool namesake :) If you'd like any more info. on Jacob Hofheins, my mom knows all about him! Thanks for the info. mom!

In all the LDS Church sources, IGI, etc, etc. Probably in all the LDS records, the famous Jacob Hofheins is noted to be born on 4 Dec 1812. Some years ago, I saw and copied his Birth record from LDS film of Rüppur, Baden, Germany from film 1,189865. Below it is the exact transcription:

(Notice that the celebrated birthdate is 2 months off!)

Birthbook 1812.
Number 38
The 14th of Oct. in the evening between 10 and 11 pm was born here (Rüppur) and today on the 20th of October baptized in the afternoon at 1:00 pm in the schoolhouse, JACOB, his father: Michael Hofheinz, citizen and daylaborer here. Mother Elisabetha Barbara Kornmüller.
Baptism witnesses:
1. Martin Hofheinz, citizen and farmer in Speck (Spöck) 2. His wife, Eva nee Hofheinzin 3. Friedrich Fischer, citizen and farmer, here 4. His wife, Jakobina nee Obermeierin. Dated: Rüppur, the 20th of October 1812.
Pastor Otto Itzig.

The Huge Hofheins...

So, Bryan and grandma came up with an idea to have a Hofheins Family (posterity) blog and asked me to create it. Since blogging is easy business for me, I guess I'm the likely candidate to unite us through the world wide web! I want everyone of you Hofheins posterity to email me whenever there's something monumental (or not so monumental, but blog-worthy) so that I can post it here!

As for news of the last few months...here's what I know. Heidi and Dave St. Julien welcomed their 2nd child, Rosie. Jinjer and Peter Donaldson welcomed their 4th baby, Grace, and Breanna and Derrick Brown welcomed their first baby, Khloe this summer. There are many gals out there who are expecting, so get ready...

Please email me with your news!!! PLEASE! I don't want to leave anyone out (and since I don't have ESP, I just might)! My email is jamiehofheins@gmail.com. I'd also like to add your blogs to our bloglist on the sidebar, so if it's not there, just email me or comment.
